About This Station

The station is located in Hollywood, a subdivision of College Park, Md in Prince Georges County. The station is powered by a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station w/FARS, which we installed on 9/5/2008. The data is collected every 1 seconds and the site is updated every 5 seconds. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software, which was installed and uploading on 9/14/2008. WxSim and Wxsimate were installed and predicting forecasts on 10/12/08 and were upgraded to Professional with enhancements on 8/9/2009. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor housed in a fan assisted radiation shield,a solar sensor was added on 9/22/2008 and is situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible. A Boltek lightning detector running NexStorm software was added on 1/15/2009.
