Carnival Miracle Cruise-1/29/06

Pre-Cruise & Embarkation

Wess & I flew to Tampa the day before our cruise to spend a day with his Mom & Dad. They picked us up at the airport on Saturday morning and we went to their house, where we were joined by his sister & brother-in-law. We had a great visit.

Mom & Dad drove us to the port the next day. We got there at 12:30, and were on the ship with “Drink Of The Day” in hand by 1:30.

We had room 8232, Panorama Deck Aft. The balcony was HUGE! The location was perfect, just a quick trip up the stairs to Lido for food & fun. Our steward, Beny, took good care of us all week.

We found our new friends, Lori & Bob at muster drill- we spent some fun times with them all through the cruise.

We met our favorite bartenders, Junnel and Emmanuel, at the Lido aft bar, and they took good care of us all week. We ran into Junnel at the piano bar among other places, he was always happy to see us and made us feel very special.

Monday- Fun Day at Sea

We explored the ship & took lots of pictures. We watched the Hairy Chest contest, which is always good for some laughs. The Captain’s Party & first formal night were today, so we got all dressed up & went to party. We had a table for 2 on the upper level of the dining room. We prefer a large table, but we made friends with everyone at the tables around us. Our wait staff, Paul & Ilham, were wonderful!!!!

We spent a little time in the casino most nights, but the slots were very tight this trip.

Tuesday- Grand Cayman

We decided to wing it in most of the ports this time. We got on a bus & went to Seven Mile Beach. I practiced with my new snorkel gear, even though there wasn’t anything to see. We had a few beers & headed back to town with the intention of shopping. There were seven ships in ports & downtown was crawling with tourists! Our bus driver tried taking a different route, but the congestion was outrageous. We hopped a tender & went back to the ship for lunch & relaxation.
